Frameless doors disappear into your bathroom. Without an aluminum frame, the glass becomes a clean architectural element. Framed doors have an obvious metal perimeter — useful when you want to match other fixtures, but harder to make feel "modern."
Glass thickness
Framed doors typically use 1/4" glass because the frame carries the load. Frameless doors use 3/8" or 1/2" — heavier, more rigid, and noticeably more premium when you touch them.
Price
Across Metro Atlanta, framed shower doors typically run $600–$1,200 installed. Frameless enclosures start around $1,200 and can reach $4,000+ for larger or steam-rated units.
